Wednesday are an American rock band from Asheville, North Carolina, led by songwriter Karly Hartzman with MJ Lenderman on guitar for much of their run. Their sound — shoegaze fuzz colliding with country steel and Hartzman's unsparing Southern-gothic detail — made Rat Saw God (2023) one of the decade's most acclaimed rock records and put Asheville at the center of the indie map.
