John confirmed 2017, which matches the only documented Alabama Shakes date at Thompson's Point. His research notes had guessed 2015 or 2016; the setlist.fm record was right and the guess was wrong. Six songs survive: Future People, Rise to the Sun, Heartbreaker, Be Mine, Don't Wanna Fight, Gimme All Your Love. Also on the bill, recovered from setlist.fm's record of who played this room that night. setlist.fm stores no running order, so the slot each act played is unknown.

The moment
Sound & Color had won the Grammys and proved Alabama Shakes were never a retro-soul novelty — Brittany Howard was the most commanding singer of her generation, and the band had evolved from 'Hold On' bar-stompers into something spacier and stranger. Nobody announced it, but the clock was running: within a year the Shakes went on indefinite hiatus and Howard went solo. The Thompson's Point crowd got one of the last summers of a band that ended at full power.
