Soundgarden opened, per John; they supported Danzig's Long Way Back From Hell tour. Warrior Soul is also documented on this exact bill, so they are listed too. John saw Soundgarden headline Iguanas in Tijuana two years later.
The moment
Glenn Danzig was three bands deep into building the darkest brand in American rock — Misfits, Samhain, now the Rick Rubin-produced Danzig, touring Lucifuge as a leather-and-crucifixes Elvis. The undercard is what history remembers: Soundgarden, on Louder Than Love, a year before Badmotorfinger and Seattle's takeover. This was John's first of three Soundgarden sightings in three years — college gym opener, arena opener for GN'R, Tijuana headliner — a personal time-lapse of grunge breaking.

“The 1990 blues-metal turn Danzig carried out on the Long Way Back From Hell tour, with Soundgarden in support.”
