The moment

Twenty dollars for the most future-loaded bill in rock history. Pearl Jam opened, four months into Ten, still a support act. Nirvana played 45 minutes in the middle — exactly two weeks later Nevermind knocked Michael Jackson off #1 and nothing about being a rock band was ever the same. The Chili Peppers headlined on Blood Sugar Sex Magik, about to become one of the biggest bands in the world themselves. This mini-tour lasted barely a week; there was never another chance to see these three bands share a stage as anything but legends.
