The moment
Suicidal Tendencies had made the strangest journey in California punk — from the Venice band so notorious their shows kept getting banned to a major-label crossover act with 'You Can't Bring Me Down' on Headbangers Ball. Lights...Camera...Revolution was the peak of the thrash-funk phase, Robert Trujillo was on bass a decade before Metallica took him, and the amphitheater setting itself was the punchline: the band your parents feared, with reserved terrace seating and a Coca-Cola co-sponsor.
From the time
- Lights...Camera...Revolution!
“The 1990 crossover peak — Venice's banned band, now with Trujillo's funk-metal bass and MTV rotation.”
