From John's own research pass, compiled Jul 2026. The fall North American run, almost certainly Doherty-less, with Anthony Rossomando subbing. The band broke up shortly after.

The moment

The Libertines arrived at the Paradise already half-wrecked. Their second album had gone to #1 in Britain that August with a cover photo of Pete Doherty and Carl Barât's matching tattoos — and by the time the tour reached America, Doherty had been barred from the band until he got clean. They played as a three-plus-one, Barât carrying the songs they'd written about their own collapse. Within two months the band was over. This was the falling-apart, witnessed live.
