The moment
Once was the tiny 2007 film that conquered the world — two musicians, a Dublin street, and 'Falling Slowly,' which won the Oscar while Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová's real romance mirrored the fiction and then, like the film, ended. The Swell Season went quiet for over a decade. The 2023 reunion tour was the epilogue nobody expected: the two of them older, the songs intact, a gilded Wang Theatre full of people who'd been handed that soundtrack at some formative moment and never put it down.
