The moment

Tourist History had made Two Door Cinema Club the sound of 2010s indie optimism — Northern Irish kids with drum machines and guitar lines like carbonation — and the touring party was stacked: Bombay Bicycle Club, months from their own UK breakthrough, in the support slot. Within a few years both bands were headlining festivals back home. Royale got the pre-inflation version, with Mickey, when the whole sound still fit in a ballroom.
