The moment
Seven years after Bob Marley's death, his eldest son carried the name back onto the charts — Conscious Party, produced by Talking Heads' Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, was the reggae crossover event of 1988, with 'Tomorrow People' on American pop radio. Ziggy was 19 and carrying the heaviest inheritance in music like it weighed nothing. An outdoor San Diego amphitheater in late September was about the right place to receive it.
