Added in 1927 to the 1899 Casino complex as a dance hall built for the big-band era: Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Duke Ellington. From the 1960s it turned rock, with Hendrix, Joplin and Led Zeppelin. A July 1971 Jethro Tull and Yes show drew a riot of ticketless fans, and the town banned rock concerts for a while. 1,800 seated, 2,200 standing.
