Opened May 11, 1914 in the heart of Davis Square, built for vaudeville, opera, plays and the new medium of motion pictures, originally seating about 1,100. Still a working movie house and concert hall. U2 played a club show here in 2009; Springsteen played solo acoustic dates in 2003.
