Opened in 1929 on Congress Street as a first-run movie house, Moorish and Art Deco, seating about 2,300. After a long decline it was renovated by The Bowery Presents and Higher Ground's Alex Crothers and reopened in October 2010 as an 1,870-capacity music venue.
