Echo & The Bunnymen are an English post-punk band formed in Liverpool in 1978 around Ian McCulloch's voice and Will Sergeant's guitar. Across Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine, and Ocean Rain (1984) — the one they advertised as 'the greatest album ever made' — they perfected a strain of orchestral, overcoat-clad romanticism, with 'The Killing Moon' as its high-water mark. They split at the end of the 80s and re-formed in the late 90s, McCulloch and Sergeant carrying it on since.
