The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Pay Attention
With Convoy
- Date
- Saturday, Sep 9, 2000
- Venue
- City Hall Plaza
- City
- Boston, MA
Remembered as 'maybe Boston Calling', which wouldn't exist for another thirteen years — City Hall Plaza hosted free radio shows long before the festival moved in. setlist.fm dates the Bosstones' Pay Attention tour stop to September 9, 2000. Convoy on the bill is John's memory; no source records the support slot. The earliest night in the archive with both Mickey and Jonas.
The moment
Three years after The Impression That I Get made them the biggest thing to come off Lansdowne Street, the Bosstones were touring Pay Attention and playing their hometown for free on the bricks of Government Center. The late-90s ska boom was already receding, but Boston never treated them like a trend — this was the city's house band playing city hall, plaid and horns against brutalist concrete.
From the time
- Pay Attention
“The 2000 album the Bosstones brought home that fall — the follow-up to the platinum Let's Face It.”
