The moment
Twenty-five years after John saw them carry brand-new Siamese Dream into a Del Mar fairgrounds hall, the Pumpkins arrived at the Garden with the thing fans had stopped believing in: James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin back beside Billy Corgan, the first tour for three-quarters of the classic lineup since 2000. The Shiny and Oh So Bright run leaned all the way into it — three-hour sets, deep Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie excavations. Metric opened. Nostalgia, but the load-bearing kind.
