Cerulean Salt had spent 2013 climbing year-end lists, and Katie Crutchfield was still playing rooms the size of Great Scott — capacity around 240, $16.90 all-in, three punk-adjacent openers deep. It's the classic before-picture in John's stubs: a decade later she sold out the Orpheum on Tigers Blood, and the next ticket after that was the Wang. This night, the whole operation fit in the back room of an Allston bar.
