Opened November 8, 1929 as the Fox Theatre, a Gothic-Revival movie palace with about 2,876 seats and a large pipe organ. The San Diego Symphony took it over and reopened it in 1985 as Copley Symphony Hall with about 2,248 seats. A $125 million renovation reopened it in September 2024 as the Jacobs Music Center, at roughly 1,800.
