Dr. Dog are an American rock band from Philadelphia, built around the dual songwriting of Scott McMicken and Toby Leaman, who have played together since eighth grade. Their lo-fi psych-pop — Beach Boys and Band harmonies run through basement four-tracks — grew from a My Morning Jacket-endorsed secret into one of the 2000s' most beloved touring acts, with Fate (2008) and Shame, Shame (2010) as the high-water marks. They stopped touring full-time in 2021 but never quite stopped.
