Both bands are documented at this room on this night, at POP Montreal. Delta Spirit were fronted by Matthew Logan Vasquez, whom John would later see twice on his own — the Music Hall Loft in 2018 and the Press Room in 2024. One of John’s few shows outside the United States, with the Iguanas nights in Tijuana and the Louis XIV run through London and Paris. No ticket survives. Also on the bill, recovered from setlist.fm's record of who played this room that night. setlist.fm stores no running order, so the slot each act played is unknown.

The moment
The archive's only Montreal entry: Dr. Dog touring Fate, the album that turned the Philadelphia basement-harmony band into a proper touring concern, in a Plateau club a border away from home. First of John's four Dr. Dogs, thirteen years before the farewell-tour goodbye at House of Blues — a thread that started with a road trip and ended with a retirement. Delta Spirit opened, early in their own run.
From the time
- Fate
“The 2008 album that broke Dr. Dog out of the basement — toured here into Canada.”
