The moment
The archive's Ben Kweller thread starts in 2001 — a teenager opening for Jeff Tweedy in a Somerville bar — and runs through two Sha Sha-era headline shows. Then in 2023 Kweller's sixteen-year-old son Dorian was killed in a car accident, and the world wondered how a songwriter built on boyish joy survives that. This show was the answer: back on the road at 43, playing ahead of Cover the Mirrors, the album made from the grief. Twenty-four years after Lilli's, the same open heart, carrying more.
