The moment
John had been at the funeral — Lollapalooza 1991, the festival Perry Farrell invented as Jane's Addiction's farewell. Six years later they were back: the Relapse tour, with Flea sitting in on bass for the departed Eric Avery, Dave Navarro fresh from his Chili Peppers detour. The band that ended alternative rock's prologue returned to find the world they'd predicted fully built. Seeing both the goodbye and the resurrection is the kind of symmetry a stub collection exists to prove.
From the time
- Kettle Whistle
“The 1997 rarities album that occasioned the Relapse reunion tour — Flea on bass, the legend officially un-retired.”
