The moment
The fine print is the story: Wilco, opening, on a farm in New Hampshire. It was the Summerteeth era — Tweedy's band a year from the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot wars, playing support on a July lawn while Natalie Merchant, post-10,000 Maniacs and at the height of her solo years, headlined. John had seen Wilco at a beach roadhouse the summer before and would follow them through every act of the drama to come; this is the only stub where they're billed under someone else's name.
