The moment
Three months after John watched them open for Guns N' Roses in an arena, Soundgarden headlined a club in Tijuana — that's how fast 1992 was moving. Badmotorfinger was on its way to platinum, the Seattle gold rush was in full frenzy, and the Singles soundtrack was weeks away from putting the whole scene in movie theaters. Two years later Superunknown entered the charts at #1. This was the last stretch where they still fit in a room like Iguanas.
