The moment

The Joshua Tree had made U2 the biggest band in the world that year — Time put them on the cover as 'Rock's Hottest Ticket' — and the tour ended here: two December nights at Sun Devil Stadium, staged and filmed as the concert climax of Rattle and Hum. The ticket itself says so ('TKT IMPLIES FILM WAIVER'). B.B. King opened, mid-collaboration with the band. When the movie hit theaters the next year, the color stadium footage was these nights — John's crowd is in the picture.
