Capacity

Open
Since 1927
Also known as
Capitol Theatre, Chubb Theatre

Opened in 1927 as the Capitol Theatre, a vaudeville stop and later Concord's premier movie house, decorated with an ornate Egyptian-motif interior. It fell into disrepair, then reopened in November 1995 as a nonprofit after a $4.2 million restoration in which some 250 volunteers logged over 3,000 hours repainting the Egyptian artwork. The 1,304-seat main house is the Chubb Theatre, which is why setlist.fm files some of these shows under a different name.
