Opened in 1973 by Bonney Bouley as a dive bar, moved to 10 Brookline Street in 1980, and became a full-time music club in 1984. At roughly 300 capacity it was one of Boston's most intimate rooms, running about 250 nights of live music a year for four decades. It closed on July 25, 2015 after the Sater brothers, who own the adjacent Middle East, bought the building and raised the rent.
