The Best Little Secrets Are Kept was the glam-sleaze record of 2005, 'Finding Out True Love Is Blind' was on alternative radio, and Louis XIV — the band Jason Hill and Brian Karscig built from Convoy's ashes — were headlining the Paradise on comp tickets with John's design work riding along on every record sleeve and merch table. Between the Central Park and Interpol bills that June and the European run he'd catch the following winter, this was the hometown-of-adoption headline: the client as rock band, at altitude.
