Louis XIV were an American rock band from San Diego, formed in 2003 by Jason Hill and Brian Karscig out of the ashes of their previous band, Convoy. Trading Convoy's Americana for glam-rock swagger — T. Rex stomp, sneering falsetto, deliberately scandalous lyrics — they broke with The Best Little Secrets Are Kept (2005) and 'Finding Out True Love Is Blind,' toured with the Killers, and burned bright through the decade's rock revival before dissolving in 2009, with occasional reunions since.
