The moment
Eight years after Convoy ended and Louis XIV rose from it, Jason Hill and Brian Karscig came home: two January nights at the Casbah, the same 200-cap room where John had seen them in 1997, one year into the band's life. Reunions usually trade on nostalgia; this one closed a circle instead — the songs that never got their due, played by men who'd since toured the world under another name, for the room that knew them first. John, the band's designer and longest witness, was there for both nights.
