A Dylan and Simon co-headline, not a support slot — they traded closing spots and sang together mid-set. Night two of a two-night stand; the July 22 show reportedly ran past curfew and both artists were fined. No stub or email survives; John placed the show and picked the night, and the date is documented on setlist.fm.

The moment
The summer 1999 Dylan/Simon tour was the first time the two ever shared a stage — forty years of parallel careers, the two songwriters who split the sixties between them, finally alternating headline sets and duetting nightly on 'The Sound of Silence' or 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door.' Dylan, two years into his late renaissance, was widely reported to be playing the sharper set. The second of John's five archived Dylans, and the only one with a co-headliner of equal weight.
